Is PPF or ceramic coating better for my Tesla?

PPF and ceramic coating do different jobs. PPF is a thick self-healing film that physically blocks rock chips, scratches, and road debris before they reach your paint. Ceramic coating is a chemical layer that adds gloss and makes washing easier but offers zero impact protection. Tesla paint is notoriously thin and soft, which is why most Tesla owners we work with choose PPF for high-impact areas and ceramic coating on top for the rest. How long does PPF installation take?

Install time depends on coverage. Partial Front takes about 2 days, Full Front takes 3 to 4 days, our Track Package takes 4 to 5 days, and a Full Body wrap takes 10 to 14 days. All packages include prep, paint correction, and proper cure time in our climate-controlled shop. We offer a free shuttle service while your car is with us, and loaner vehicles are available for Track and Full Body packages.

We perform a free annual inspection on every install to keep your warranty valid.

No. XPEL Ultimate Plus is completely clear and optically invisible once installed. Your factory paint color and finish stay exactly the same. What does self-healing PPF actually mean?

XPEL Ultimate Plus has a flexible top coat that physically reflows when warmed. Light surface scratches, swirl marks, and fine scuffs disappear on their own with heat from the sun, a heat gun, or warm water. Deeper impact damage from rocks or sharp objects is still absorbed by the film, but the film itself takes the hit instead of your paint. That's the whole point of PPF.

Does PPF protect against rock chips and road debris?

Yes. Stopping rock chips is what PPF was built to do. The film absorbs the impact of rocks, gravel, sand, road salt, bug splatter, bird droppings, tree sap, and minor scrapes before they touch your clear coat. When you're ready to sell, the film can be removed safely by a professional, leaving the original paint untouched underneath.
